Q:How do I order dead soft material with a fine grain?The grain size will be large when ordering dead soft temper. The temper will be tested, not the grain size.
Q: Does Stern-Leach manufacture shaped wire?
Yes. We manufacture fancy flat wire, fancy half-round wire, channel wire, bezel wire, oval wire, dome wire and rib wire.
Q: Are data sheets available for Stern-Leach alloys?
Yes. We have technical data sheets available on our download section of the website. We can also fax or mail a copy to the customer upon request.
Q: Does Stern-Leach manufacture customized alloys?
Yes, if possible. In most cases the customer supplies a composition that can be matched to an existing product. If there is no existing product, the composition is reviewed to determine if it's compatible with our manufacturing process.
Q: How do you age harden a Stern-Leach alloy?
Not all alloys are age hardenable; there are no specific alloys manufactured for age hardening. Technical Data Sheets are available, detailing the procedure, for our age hardenable alloys..
Q: Why does an alloy tarnish?
Many contributing factors can cause alloy to tarnish: environmental conditions, perfume, deodorant, chemicals used in manufacture, solder temperature, packaging, skin conditions, water or conditions where sulfur of chlorine is present.
